How to cancel a dating app subscription
If you pay for a dating app through your phone, you cancel through your phone’s app store, not inside the app. Deleting the app does not stop the payments.
On iPhone (App Store)
On a free trial, Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the dating app’s subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription (you may need to scroll). If there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, it is already cancelled.
On Android (Google Play)
Google notes that uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged at the next renewal.
- Open your subscriptions page in the Google Play app.
- Select the dating app’s subscription.
- Tap Cancel and follow the prompts.
Paid on the website?
If you subscribed on the app’s website rather than through your phone, cancel in your account settings there. Each app’s page on this site links to its own help pages.
